Minor problems (Linux)

Problem1: error message when i tried to connect to the home network and see the shares, error message said "operation not valid or supported" something like that...
Solution: installed gvfs-backends and gvfs-fuse, logged out and then back in, everything's working as it should.

Problem2: for some reason enabling the MATE desktop environment's default compositor (to get fancy shadows under the windows) caused choppy resizing animation on *SOME* applications, yeap, some, e.g Eye of MATE while other applications like pluma or web browser were fine.
Solution: you need to... either install another compositor, e.g compton (i have my compton.conf and a small guide on some post here) or from Compiz panel, choose the resize effect to be something other than live-window-resize.

Problem3: XFCE/Openbox combination.. yeap it's a nice combination to have and usually there's not a single problem, until yesterday... I saw the ugliest and biggest notification messages (after ZOMG-PONNIES) imaginable, not only that but they were unthemed and in wrong position, top right instead of bottom-right (changing the settings of xfce4-notifyd-config did nothing) I tried a lot of things (from XFCE and Openbox as well but nada..)
Solution: for some reason a preinstalled package (which never game me any problem before) was probably responsible for it. After i removed notification-daemon all the notification were themed as they should, xfce4-notifyd-config make changes effectively, positions, themes and time limit and long story short, everything runs as it should, at least for 2 days now. If everything changes i'll update the post (hopefully not)
